Description

"Vally" is a 1997 reg. half-Arabian gelding located in MS. He is a very flashy pinto (chestnut tobiano) who always gets attention! I have owned Vally for 9 1/2 years and am selling only because I am starting my first job and need to move, and I can only afford to move one horse. I showed Vally in HA/AA Hunter Pleasure and Equitation at AHA breed shows and we were always in the ribbons (usually at the top!). He has multiple championships in those classes. We competed (and won) at the 2004 and 2005 AHA Region XII Youth Jamboree in Alpharetta, GA as well as at the 2006 Region XII Championships (where we were named Champion in Hunt Seat Equitation 2'6-2'9 NTJ ATR). Vally is a show-off who loved the show ring. I only stopped showing the AHA shows because of college; it was hard for me to travel to the bigger shows. I showed him through the beginning of First Level dressage. He has a lovely, natural rhythm and beautiful gaits. His extended trot is excellent. I believe he could go further in dressage, but I was not interested. I showed him in Working Hunter classes on the Arabian circuit as well and did some hunter/eq classes at all-breed hunter/jumper shows. In 2007, I started doing jumpers with him and he excelled! We competed in both the 2'6 and 3'0 jumpers but since then I've only shown him in the 2'6 because I haven't been able to keep him in shape. He could easily go back to doing the bigger fences. He is an excellent jumper because he is fast, brave, and quick. He's very careful and will not pull rails! You can trust him to jump a fast, clean round. He obviously loves jumping and is easy to ride in jumpers - point and shoot! His small size allows him to make tighter turns that the bigger horses can't make, and he is hard to beat. He finished 4th for the 2007 year-end placings in the Hopeful Jumpers (2'6) for MHJA after competing in only one show (three classes) with an unfamiliar rider; in March 2008, he competed with me (his usual rider) and won both of his classes. In my younger (braver) years, we schooled up to 3'9 and showed up to 3'3. Vally is an extremely easy keeper--very low maintenance. He is barefoot, has no soundness issues/health problems, and is turned out on pasture 24/7. He gets along well with other horses, dogs, and people. He does not kick, bite, rear, or bolt and is very friendly. He would do best with a solid intermediate or above rider when showing on the flat, though in a familiar environment when he is ridden regularly, I would trust him with anyone. I have plenty of photos that are available upon request. The price is negotiable.
