Description

"Sugar" is a nice well-broke mare that is easy to ride, easy to handle, and easy to catch. She stands quietly for bathing, clipping, saddling, mounting, farrier and veterinarian. Loads great in slant or straight load trailer. She was shown successfully by women and children, both experience and inexperienced riders, to much success. Unfortunately, Sugar was injured in March 2010* and due to the scars left by the injury, she can no longer be shown. She would need some experience to be a trail horse - we don't seem to have the time to go trail riding. She is for sale because we show competitively and don't have room for horses that are not being shown. Sugar is comfortable around dogs, cats and small children. We used her for Lead Line classes with a 3 year old rider. Sugar will walk and foxtrot to sound cues, but she has never been trained to canter. She is up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, and she has her hooves trimmed every 8 weeks.

* A late, heavy snow collapsed a shelter in our pasture. Sugar was under the shelter at the time and cut her left rear leg around the fetlock and hoof. Amazingly, she only suffered two major cuts from which she has since recovered completely.
