Doc is a beautiful 15.2 hand, 8-year-old registered Quarter Horse gelding, sorrel with a white star and one white foot. When I bought him a year ago he had been patterned on barrels, but the owner didn’t think he was fast enough to be a good barrel racer. We bought him as a trail horse and have gone on a half dozen or so trail rides with him on which he seemed well-mannered and happy to be working. Twice we have been in a situation (neither time on a trail) where he spooked and bucked. I’m 61 (and a relatively new horse person) and don’t have the time or experience to teach him to be the kind of horse I know he can be. I have started him on the Clinton Anderson training method and he seems both willing and able to learn. Would consider an out and out sale or a trade for an older and experienced trail horse suitable for a novice rider.
