Description

Blackjack is a cute dappled buckskin quarter horse that rides and works like a big horse. He is 10 years old and 14.1 HH. He has been used on a ranch and a feedlot his entire life, ridden by both adults and kids that know how to ride. He is very handy and can really ride around. He has an excellent neck rein, will stop and roll back right over his haunches. Blackjack was used to rope and doctor cattle in the wheatfields, and also to sort cattle in the pens. We have started him in the arena roping the heels and breakaway. With just a little more time he will make a fantastic rodeo horse. He is quiet in the box, breaks flat and smooth, runs right to the hip, and just dies in his tracks. He is really cowy and good on the end of a rope, and has an excellent stop. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and is not spooky. We have trotted and loped him around the barrels and through the poles, and while he is not patterned he handles good enough that a child could have a lot of fun on him doing playdays as well. Traffic does not bother him, and he travels out well and keeps up with. the big horses on the ranch. He is all business when you are riding him and likes to have a job.
