My name is Angie. I just turned 36 years old and last year I was diagnosed was Multiple Sclerosis. I
am sorry if this ad is misleading. I don't have a horse to sell. I am desperately trying to keep the
horse I have for my daughter. As you read on, you will understand why.
I have a
wonderful husband, a great son who is 16, and a beautiful daughter, Katlyn, who is 14. My daughter
and I share a passion of horses and I have always had a good job to support this passion of horses.
I worked as long as I could after I started having medical problems, but this didn’t last long.
Before I was even diagnosed, I lost the use of my right leg. Then my level of pain and the
medications they had to put me on to control the pain made my ability to work obsolete.
I am
writing you this letter to ask for your help. My daughter is a very talented rider. She has a level
of talent that should not be wasted. I know that every mother believes that about her daughter, but
I have been around horses my entire life and I know true talent and natural ability when I see it.
My daughter has this ability. She can go far in life with horses and barrel racing if I don’t hold
her back. I know that our financial status prevents us right now from barrel racing. I know that
times are tough for everyone right now, but any donations at all would be appreciated. If you would
like for me to email you a video of her running I can do that. She just wants to barrel race and I
just want to find a way to make it happen for her. She should not be held back because my body
can’t keep up.
Our house was foreclosed on last summer and I just don't have the heart to
tell her that we have to sell her horse this summer if we can't come up with some money. She has had
a lot to deal with and has handled it wonderfully, but I got her into barrel racing and I will do
what it takes to see her through to the end with this. I was born with this in my blood, thanks to
my Dad. She was born with this in her blood, thanks to me. And with any luck, her daughter will be
born with it in her blood.
She has spent so many hours of blood, sweat, and tears riding,
getting hurt on horses, listening to me telling her how to do it differently, getting mad at me
telling her how to better.
If you were sitting here in front of my right now, you would
realize that even as I am typing this letter, I am in tears, trying to figure out how to do this for
my daughter. I may not have much of a life left for myself, but by God, I will give my kids the best
life I possibly can. I am begging you to please help me to help my daughter.
I am willing to
advertise in any way for anyone or any company who is willing to help us. I can put a company logo
on my trailer for the summer, wear company apparel, etc. I am open to any and all ideas. If you are
able to donate, please contact me and I will provide you with info to our direct link to our paypay
account.
If you have any questions regarding this letter or about Multiple Sclerosis, you may
contact me by phone or email at any time.
Thank you for your time,
Angie Pratte
