Description

Big Montana Sky (Montana) is a beautiful 11-year-old chestnut and white spotted Tennessee Walker standing about 16.2 hands and weighs around 1100 lbs. He comes complete with saddle and bridle. He has excellent ground manners, has been ground trained in a round pen, leads easily, he practically holds his own feet up for the farrier, can load himself into a trailer and backs out just as well. He gets along with other horses, stands well on a picket line, and is an easy keeper for his size. We have ridden over 2000 miles in the last 5 years and love to go horse camping with family and friends. Montana has been ridden on everything from old logging roads to cliff rim trails, through streams and rivers, along busy highways, and also in a few parades. He will go about anywhere you want to point him including making new trails though the brush. I have trimmed trails from his back and with him following along behind me. He is a big powerful horse and requires an experienced rider as he can become excitable at times. I currently ride him with a halter bridle and Tom Thumb bit that will be included in the sale along with a 16" hornless gaited horse trail saddle made by Crest Ridge Saddlery (the Crusade Elite sells for over $1,000 new). It was hard to find a saddle to fit him because of his high withers, but this saddle fits great. The reason I am selling Montana is I turned 50 last year and at 5'3", it's getting too hard to get into the saddle.
