Queenie is a very sweet and loveable mare. She will stand in the pen and let you catch her. She lets
you pick up all four feet, and is good for the farrier. She likes to be brushed, and will become
impatient when tied and paw at the ground. She will stand to be bathed. We ride her western but she
has had an English saddle on and did okay. She's getting better with the cars, and dogs don't really
bother her. She has a strange fear of cows though, some days she is fine, other days she won't go
anywhere near the cows. She hasn't really been exposed to them, so I think once she get's used to
them she would be fine.
She is still young and figuring out her gaits. She has a smooth trot
but sometimes she gets ahead of herself and moves to a faster, choppier gait. You can go out and hop
on her bareback with a halter and she does really well, I ride that way often.
She saddles
easily and takes the bit with ease. She has issues with her right ear, and doesn't like it messed
with, but the other is fine.
She has never offered to buck or rear undersaddle, or kick while
being handled on the ground.
I would recommend at least an advanced beginner because she does
have a lot of energy and doesn't know a whole lot because she is young. She moves off little leg and
responds to "clicking" and "kissing" to move forward.
More pictures on request, and if wanted
a video can be taken as well.
Would produce very nice babies. Has the agouti gene.
